Drivers may work in a variety of settings within the
NHS. They may work for a particular trust, transporting
patients, equipment supplies or samples between locations. They may
work for the ambulance service or as volunteers, bringing patients
to hospital or for routine treatment. They might work for NHS
organisations, such as the National Blood Service.
Larger vehicle drivers are also contracted with the DHL which operates NHS Supply Chain. Please click here for more information.
Drivers require a full driving licence, usually clean. Depending on the role drivers may require certain categories of license to drive larger vehicles.
Vacancies are advertised on the NHS Jobs website, as well as on trust websites and in the local press and job centres.
